The man who started it all. Rex got into the Game bird business from his Father-In-Law Bruce Smith in 1957. He has raised literally tens of thousands of birds over the years. He has raised Bobwhites, Tennessee Red Quail, Chukar and Ringneck Pheasants.
In addition to raising bobwhites, Rex helped his brother-in-law and nephew run Smith & Carter Dairy Farm until it ceased operations in 2018. Rex is known for his easing going spirit and southern gentleman manners.
Danny manages the day to day operations. Danny served active duty in the US Army and Army Reserves serving in combat operations in the Gulf War. He then began a 31-year career in law enforcement.
In the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the formation of the Department of Homeland Security, Danny served on the Anti-Terrorism Task Force Team for the State of Tennessee under President George W. Bush and Secretary Tom Ridge.
Janet provides the knowledge and support for raising birds. She's not a slouch in the kitchen either! Janet is a distinguished educator winning numerous accolades. She was known for her Ecology classes at Greeneville High School and her advocacy for conservation. She has taught dozens of students who now have careers in conservation, biology, and environmental fields.
She has touched the lives of thousands of children, and has provided guidance to the community for many years.
Assists with raising birds and day to day operations. He has helped his grandfather Rex since the early 2000’s. Tyler will help with the process from start to finish and will be your liaison for setting up appointments and transport of birds. He will gladly answer any questions you might have about our operations.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. Like his father he has served and continues to serve, on various NGOs and Non-Profit Boards.
Kaleigh is “helper of all trades,” within the operation. Alabama born, Georgia raised, and Tennessee educated, she serves primarily as the social media and website manager. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education and Childhood Development from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. She is a proud elementary school teacher. Teaching with several systems across the state.
Relatively new to the conservation and rural lifestyle, Kaleigh has embraced it with vigor.
Teejay is an 11 year Old Hemlock Setter. Teejay has pointed and retrieved scores of quail, along with woodcock, grouse, and Wilson Snipe. He enjoys the fireplace and getting to go on long rides in the car.
